Honda has been taking home awards left and right. We recently shared the Accord won a record 30 awards of 10Best Cars and the 2016 Honda Civic was North American Car of the Year Award. And we’re back now with more exciting and humbling news.
The only automaker to do so, Honda swept Kelley Blue Book 2016 ‘Best Family Car’ Awards with a Honda model in each category. The 2016 Honda Civic, Accord, HR-V, CR-V, Pilot and Odyssey were all recognized.
To be named a ‘Best Family Car of 2016,’ the Kelley Blue Book team evaluated vehicle's ability to take care of family needs. A special emphasis was placed on safety and performance.
"This recognition by the experts at Kelley Blue Book of six of our core models is affirmation that Honda has the best possible choices for families of any size," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of sales, Honda Division at American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Over a period of two weeks, the team at KBB.com drove, tested and lived-with each of the contenders. They loaded cargo, installed baby seats, watched movies on entertainment systems, paired phones...anything and everything typical to a family car’s day-to-day.
Our team at Gillman Honda San Benito is thrilled to hear of the honors especially after such a rigorous testing system. These Hondas have proven their ability to fulfill needs and wants in a family car.
Here are each of the categories and their respective Honda winner:
Sedan - 2016 Honda Civic and 2016 Honda Accord
Two-Row Crossover/SUV - 2016 Honda HR-V and 2016 Honda CR-V
Three-Row Crossover/SUV - 2016 Honda Pilot
